Shipping FAQ

Where do you ship?

We ship to all 50 states in the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii. We raise everything that we sell and ship it directly from our farm in Iowa.

How do you calculate shipping costs?

It is shipped FLAT RATE based on your region. Regions vary from $20-$59 in the continental U.S. and $120 to Alaska/Hawaii. The rate includes a compostable cooler and dry ice. The rate does not increase based upon weight, so stock up at one time to save.

How is the meat shipped?

We ship the meat Tuesdays via UPS overnight or two-day-air. We use dry ice and the most environmentally sustainable and functional cooler material available to keep your meat safe in transit.

Will I receive tracking information on my package?

Yes! When you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation. Then, you will receive a second confirmation that includes UPS tracking information on the Tuesday we ship your package. Please note that sometimes UPS doesn't scan in the package until late Tuesday evening.

Non perishables are shipped via USPS and you will also receive tracking information for those packages once we ship them.

If you do not receive these emails, first check your spam folder. If you still cannot find the information you can contact us at info@grandviewbeef.com

Do I need to be home to receive the shipment?

No. There is no signature required for delivery.

If you are in an apartment that requires special delivery instructions, please
include those in the order note at checkout so we can pass these instructions on to our shipping carrier.

We are not responsible for damages or issues that occur after the order is marked as 'delivered' by our shipping carrier. It is the recipients responsibility to transfer the meat into a freezer or refrigerator upon arrival.

Is it fresh or frozen?

The meat is shipped frozen. We use a method known as flash freezing – a process that rapidly freezes the meat at ultra-low temperatures. By utilizing this technique, we ensure that when you thaw the meat to eat, you retain all the essential nutrients and flavors, akin to those found in a fresh cut.

My box arrived and there wasn't any dry ice. Is that okay?

Yes, that is very normal. The dry ice evaporates in transit and may be gone by the time it arrives at your door. As long as the product is still cold or partially frozen, the quality has not diminished. You may store the meat in the freezer for up to 1 year or refrigerate and serve within 7 days.

In the rare event your box is delayed and the beef is not cold when it arrives, please contact us immediately at info@grandviewbeef.com.

What is shipping protection and do I need it?

We do everything within our control to ensure your meat arrives to you in great condition, but there are rare occasions where something happens outside our control that delays the package. In most cases, even with these delays, the meat is still cold or partially frozen upon arrival.

To receive fast and simple order protection in the event of delays, damage, or theft you can sign up for shipping protection at checkout. This ensures that in the event of a problem, we can fully refund or replace your order.

If you toggle off the shipping protection and your box is delayed, lost, or stolen for reasons outside our control, we will not be able to replace the box.

What do I do with the cooler and box?

Start by cutting the plastic film and pull out the foam panels. Recycle the film. Once the foam and film are separated, you’re able to dispose of foam in three ways:
1. Compost in any residential or commercial compost facility. The foam will decompose in 60 days or less when in a moist soil environment.
2. Dissolve in water. Put a piece in the sink and watch it “melt” safely down the drain; it decomposes in seawater and freshwater!
3. Burn. It burns cleanly and safely in fireplaces and fire pits — works great to start your barbecue
